Ledger Live Setup Guide: From First Download to Secure Login
If you’re new to Ledger products, this step‑by‑step setup guide will help you:
• Download the Ledger Live app
• Set up your Ledger Nano S or Ledger Nano X
• Create a safe backup using your recovery phrase
• Complete your first Ledger Live login on desktop
Use these steps for a secure and smooth start.

Download and Install Ledger Live

Set Up Your Ledger Hardware Wallet
1. Unbox your Ledger Nano S or Ledger Nano X.
2. Connect the device to your computer using the included USB cable.
3. Follow the prompts on the device to:
• Select a PIN code
• Write down your 24‑word recovery phrase
• Confirm each word on the device
This 24‑word phrase is your Ledger Live backup. It is the only way to recover your wallet if the device is lost, stolen, or reset.
Store the phrase offline in a safe, private location. Never type it into your computer, phone, or any website.

3. Follow the guided steps to verify your device and run basic security checks.

From this point on, you’ll need that password every time you open the app.
